Nubel: October newsletter
Hello everyone!
I hope you're all having an excellent weekend. I was happily surprised to find (well, my son did, but sharing is caring, right? 😅) an alfajor in the trick-or-treat haul. Globalization at its finest!
Alright, let's jump into it. This will be short.
TL;DR: We've just completed the initial feature set for employers to post jobs on Nubel and receive applicants with our new format. Starting next week, we'll be in full outreach mode. The dev team has shrunk a bit as we've shifted focus from product dev to engaging with our community and clients.
Other exciting updates:
Nubel has been accepted as an embedded partner at Northeastern University in Vancouver! We'll be collaborating with the university on various initiatives and, in return, will have access to office space on their campus. It's exciting to see where this partnership leads!
We hosted our second event within our Nubel Connect series: https://lu.ma/ejduuy01. We had 25 check-ins, 23 RSVP'd as not going, and 38 no shows.
The book is coming together! We just released our second edition of our newsletter, which includes the first chapter.
I participated in a thought-provoking panel discussion with IECBC's CEO Patrick McKenzie, Swtch’s Head of People Manu Varma, and Deloitte partner Shannon Kot, moderated by Sheryl Lee, Chief Impact Officer at LIFT. Our focus was on leveraging AI in recruitment 🔥.
Now, about the product: If you haven't done so, go to nubel.ca, create an account, head to your Hiring Studio, and post a job. Go, I'll wait!
(...)
Here's what we have right now:
You can post jobs with the essential information: job description, requirements, location, type of employment, etc.
Candidates can explore jobs here: https://app.nubel.ca/jobs, and only email-verified candidates can apply.
You can review candidates and mark them as Yes, No, or Maybe.
Share your job post on social media.
Coming starting next week:
Add conditions for applicants, like residence area, work status (open work permit, PR, citizen, etc.), verification level (email and ID), job references, and more.
Improved applicant tracking with easier filtering and UX.
A profile page for your company.
Enhanced responsiveness.
How you can support Nubel:
Post a job (at least one!) and try a full hiring cycle on the platform. It's completely free. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please let me know – I'd really appreciate it.
Hit reply and let me know what job board(s) you use, what you like about them and what you don't. What would you LOVE to see in any of these?
We're working “full-full-time” (is there a term for a founder's schedule?) to build an excellent product for you. Send your ideas and comments to any of us, and we'll gladly consider them.
Next steps: Now that we have a basic but full-cycle product, our primary goal is to onboard employers. We'll continue refining and adding to the product, but updates will be driven by user feedback.
Wishing y'all a warm and cozy weekend. Now, I'm off to enjoy the rest of mine.
Yours, always.
